-Why you decided come to Barcelona? How has your life changed?/ ¿Por qué decidiste venir a Barcelona? ¿Cómo ha cambiado tu vida?
I came to Barcelona because your school offered me a job. It was a big change and it was very fast. I had to learn lots of things to live independently like cooking or ironing. Although it was a positive change. I like it./ Vine a Barcelona porqué tu escuela me ofreció trabajo. Fué un gran cambio y fué muy rápido. Tuvé que aprender muchas cosas para independizarme como cocinar o planchar. Però fué un cambio positivo.

-Why did you decide to become teacher?/ ¿Por qué decidiste ser profesor?
Because it is my vocation./Porqué es mi vocación.

My childhood was good. In Bachillerato you discover a lot of new things. However, in university you enjoy a lot. It's where you know your true friends./Mi infancia fue buena. En bachillerato tu descubres muchas cosas nuevas. No obstante, en la universidad tu difrutas mucho.Es donde conoces a tus amigos de verdad.

-What do you like the most of this school? And the worst?/¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de este colegio? ¿Y lo que menos?
I like the most the atmosphere (the students, my workmates...). And the worst some organization points to improve./Lo que más me gusta es el ambiente (alumnos, mis compañeros de trabajo...). Y lo que menos algunos aspectos organizativos a mejorar.

A day in my life

Hi, my friends !!!! ;)

I'm Raúl, one day in my life is very normal.
I get up at 7:00 and I have breakfast. After that I go to school at 8:00 until 2:30, although I sometimes overslept. :(
When I leave the school I go to gym with Adrià and Christian for keep fit until 5 o'clock.
When I arrive my house I connect to the messenger and I go for a walk.
At night, I have dinner and I watching TV or another thing.

This is my life until Friday since the weekend I work in a Cafereia-Restaurant in the Sants Station.

I get up at 7 o'clock and then I have breakfast.
We go to school at 8 o'clock but I always arrive 5' late. at 11 o'clock we have 30' break for eat. Two days in the week we finish at 13'30 and three days at 2'30 but after don't go to school in the afternoon.
In the afternoon at 6 o'clock I go with my boy go for a walk.
I have a sister, she is 21 years :D
Always I have dinner with my family at 22. After I watch TV until I fall sleep.

Hello friends!!

I am studying of the science. And we their timetable is bit diferent that the other kinds. We doing a obtional subjects and compulsory subjects. The compulsory subjects are catalan, spanish, history, phylosophy, english and psychology. And the obtional subjects are math, physics, biology and chemistry.

The teachers

Hi friends.
I explain the different teacher in my school. The first time I call the teachers by their names. For example: Anna is my English teacher. She teach English and she help to listening and reading. Other teacher is Esther Novo. She teach only Geology. My tutor is Oriol. He teach more subjects; Filosophy. History and Economy. Pere's teacher learn Catalan who is a headmaster's secretary. Jose Luis' is a teacher who learn a cientific people. And the finish is a Jose Maria is teacher in Latin and Language (Spanish).He lived in Sevilla but now he living in Barcelona. This is a new teacher.
Teachers are friendly and funny but in my view, Jose Maria I don't like because I have a lot of problems. Teacher are fantastics and hard-workers.

Hello friends!!

I am studying Humanities, it is group the Bachillerato that only study the language and literature. For example the compulsory subjects: Spain, Catalan, History, English, Sphicology and Filosofy. And the obtional subjects: History of Art, Geography, Latin and Maths.

One day in my life! (Sandra Martín)

Hi friends!
I get up at 6.30am. Somedays I have a shower but I usually get dressed. After this I do my bed and I have breakfast ( orange juice and yoghurt). At 7.30 am I left home and I meet with my friend Lucia to go to the school. At 8 o'clock start the class. I have free time at 11-11.30am and then the classes continue. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I left school at 2.30pm but Tuesday and Thursday I left school at 1.30 but I must go in the afternoon (3-5pm).
In the afternoon I do all my homework, I chat with my friends and I listening to music. At 8 I have dinner. I was chatting and watching TV even 11 or 12pm and then I go to bed.
In the weekend I spend time with my boyfriend and Fryday afternoons with my friends. However, lots of times we meet to have a great time.

We having someone holidays in the year, for example: "Easter" and "Bank holiday".
The Easter is a week where is celebrating the differents events, for example: the people go out on the street for look the Christ.
Moreover we have a bank holiday.

MARKS IN SPAIN

In Spain the marks start in 0, the worst mark, and finally the end is 10, the best mark. If you get 5 or more you will pass and if you get under 5 you won't pass.

Apologies

Dear students,
First of all, I would like to apologise because my students were so busy finishing their research project and preparing their presentation that we had to cancel these activities. I suppose you don't know what the research project is about. Students who are in their second year Bachillerato have to do some research in a given topic. Then they are asked to write a project and prepare an oral presentation. That's what my students were doing. It's very important since it's part of their final mark to get into university. Apart from that, they are not used to doing oral presentations and they get very nervous. If you feel like, you can ask Spanish students about the topics they worked on for their research project. I must say that they are asked to write and do the presentation in Catalan but this year one of our students did it in English. She did a great job and it was really interesting. Ask them and they'll tell you more about their research project.
Well, now we'll start working again.

Fira de Santa Llúcia

As our German friends have said, in Germany there are some interesting Christmas markets where you can buy Christmas stuff. Well, you should know that in Barcelona there's a famous market called Fira de Santa Llúcia where you can get Christmas trees, small statues for pessebre, ... In this photo you can see some of the stalls that you can see in this market. There is also another famous market, which is smaller than Santa Llúcia, in front of La Sagrada Família.

"Llufa"

On the 28th December we celebrate April Fool's Day and we call it Innocent Day as Cristian has already said. Here is the paper that people stick on other people's back just for a laugh. We call it "llufa".

Sopa de galets, carn d'olla and canalones

Here you can see the "sopa de galets".
It's a soup taht you make with galets.






It's the meat that you put to make
the soup of galets. You separate
it and you can eat it.







It is called " Canalons". It is a roll of pasta
with meat inside and a cream that is called
"bechamel". Finally, you put grated cheese
and put in the oven.

Pesebre viviente

This is a "pesebre viviente". It is real people who perform as if they were Joseph, Mary, Jesus, the shepherds, ...

The Three Kings.

It is called PESSEBRE. These Pessebre is create by the children who study in the school with her teacher.

CAGA TIÓ!!!

These are some "Tiós", they are made of wood and wear a hat and their faces are painted. Children hit them with a stick while they are singing a typical song.

Turrones, neulas and polvorones

Here you can see "turrons" of diferent kinds.

That is make baking honey, sugar, eggs and

almonds.

You can find turrons of chocolate, with almonds,

hazelnuts or whatever you want.

Here you can see " neules". That are tubes of cookies
very thin with cylinder form.

And finally, you have "polvorones". That are make with

flour,fat of pork, sugar and almonds.

You can add chocolate, cinnamon, lemon... but not whole

only aroma.

Innocent day

In Spain, we celebrate the innocent day on 28th. In this day we make jokes between us. There are people that they stick a paper on the back like a man. Also there are people that change the salt for the sugar in the coffee.
When do you celebrate the innocent day? What do you make jokes?

In the Christmas days we singing some christmas carols. The childrens will gone to the differents houses for singing this cristmas carols to recive a bit of money, some popular christmas carols are "Noche de Paz", "Peces en el Rio", "Portal de Belén", "campanas sobre campanas"...

Lottery

Now, I explain about is lottery. Christmas Lottery is very important for spanish people, because they spend a lot of money to win a very big gift (this gift is a lot of moneys, incluse millions of €).
The lottery is only a small paper or ticket.

The three Kings are typical in Spain, on the five of Genuary the childrens go with letters where they written the presents what they like.
The tió is a trunk with eyes, moze and noyse what the childrens hit with a stick and Tió give presents.

6th January is tipical eat el "Roscon de Reyes". It's look like a cake
Tradicional history of it is, who find a small statue of a king, it put the crown on his hear and who find a bean have to pay el "Roscon" the next year.

In Christmas eat " turrones"

In Christmas is very tipical eat "turrones" (It is a sweet a bar chocolate or other ingredients). It is very famous in Spain and Catalonia. As December and finished January is a tipical eating. You can eat turrones when you finished lunch or dinner. Turrones haves another ingredients for exemple lemon, strawberry or menta. You can chose "Turrones" you like it.
It is very special. It is tradicion of Spain.

nEw YeArS EvE (Nochevieja)

Hi guys!! We're going to talk about the New Year's Eve,

the last night of the year here called "Nochevieja".

Here we celebrate 2 typical things: eating 12 grapes at

midnight and wearing red underwear.

On 31st of December at midnight, in the year's last seconds

when the bells are sounding people begin to eat twelve grapes.

One for each second. In our opinion this gives good luck.

Another traditional thing is wearing red underwear.

It's better that at the end of the night you'll burnt it.

This also gives good luck to begin the new year with hopes!

That's all. Now, it's your time to explain us what do you

do at New Year's Eve.

I don't celebrate Cristmas. But when I came in spain I saw the people how they celebrate. Its really very nice. I like it too much the way of celebrating Cristmas.

They decorate markets, streets road, etc. They eat special food at Cristmas and share presents.
